We're seeking a specialty User Researcher (aka User Research Engineer) to join our User Experience (UX) team in Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) to help support CBRE as we work to expand our internal and client-facing (web and mobile) applications across the globe. This User Researcher will play a key role in developing and implementing AI-driven applications to improve our user research and data analysis capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage AI, machine learning, and data science to drive innovation and efficiency across our product development processes. This person will be part of an agile team, influence technology decisions across the organization, and help deliver solutions to world-class, global platforms.

About The Role:

As a CBRE UX Researcher, you will be responsible for designing and implementing AI applications, machine learning models, and data science best practice to address business questions and further understanding of our customers and end-users.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and develop AI-driven applications to automate complex research tasks, such as writing SQL queries, analyzing data, and generating machine learning models.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI agents into our product development lifecycle.
  • Develop and implement AI-powered tools to capture and analyze user insights from various sources, including user feedback surveys, product analytics, and CDP sources.
  • Work closely with user researchers, data scientists, and engineers to develop and refine machine learning models that inform product decisions.
  • Conduct user research to validate the effectiveness of AI-driven applications and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for AI-driven applications, including user guides and technical documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in AI, machine learning, and data science.
  • Develop and implement data science methodologies to analyze and visualize user behavior and preferences.
  • Use statistical modeling and machine learning techniques to identify trends and patterns in user data.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to design and implement data pipelines and architectures that support AI-driven applications.
  • Develop and maintain data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to help them identify and prioritize their research needs.
  • Translate research findings and business/user needs into insights for product and UX teams.
  • Actively supervising and analyzing research, data, and trends from internal sources, academic research, and industry published reports to advise and improve our product and research methods.
  • Present and communicate research clearly and optimally across various collaborator groups.
  • Creating stakeholder/client deliverables such as research summary reports, presentations, visual maps (e.g., analytics dashboards, workflow diagrams, quarterly reports).
  • Be a user-centered design evangelist within our organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by UX leadership.

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred with up to 3 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
    • Experience with AI and machine learning applications in user research or UX context
    • Familiarity with user research methodologies and tools, such as user feedback surveys and product analytics
    • Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git
    • Certification in machine learning or data science
    • Experience with data visualization tools
    • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or GCP
    • Curiosity and interest in how people work and tackle problems
    • Experience in gaining active end-user input into the specification, design, and implementation phases through interviews, usability studies, and other observational methods (web analytics, remote logging, remote un-moderated tests, etc.) as well as quantitative methods such as surveys and tree testing
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, and recommend solutions
    • Eagerness to continually learn, develop your skill set, and improve the craft of UX research
