Responsibilities Specific tasks will vary by machine, but many
responsibilities are common among virtually all machines and hand
tools. The following to be some of the general duties any operator
should expect and be responsible for. Production All the part
processes have a predetermined quota as in setup time and process
time that an operator is expected to perform each task within.
Completion of your task means the next stage of the process can
progress as scheduled. Operators need to enter data of counts at
each step of the processing. This must be their own count and not
assuming the person's processing previous to them counted
correctly. They are also responsible for locating the output to a
staging area common to the product and the next stage of the
production process. Maintenance Production requires machines to
constantly perform at optimal levels, so operators need to follow a
regular upkeep. Any problems must be reported to your supervisor or
the maintenance department immediately. Quality Control Operators
must be devoted to quality control by inspecting (visually and/or
with precision tools) the pieces or products they produce. Problems
need to be brought to management's attention immediately. In long
runs, spot checks are necessary to assure nothing has shifted or
changed in any way for the required end results of that process.
Safety Safety is a requirement of the operator. They need to abide
by workplace and governmental guidelines to reduce the chance of
injury to themselves and others. This may involve checking that
machine is working properly, wearing proper safety gear and
maintaining a clean area. Training Others Seasoned operators may be
tasked with getting new hires up to speed. Since so many who enter
this workforce do not have prior training on the company's
particular machine. Operators need to be able to explain things
thoroughly and monitor progress carefully. Employment Type: Full
