JOB DESCRIPTION: The Senior Director of Business Planning leads
a team to help identify, evaluate, and implement strategic
initiatives across Tenet Healthcare. These strategic initiatives
include higher-acuity service line expansions, new facility and
medical campus developments, potential partnership evaluations,
market diligence of potential acquisitions, and various corporate
initiatives. Initiatives are prioritized with Corporate and
Operations leadership, aligned with enterprise and market strategic
priorities. Furthermore, the Business Planning team serves as
strategic advisors to Operations leadership across Tenet Acute Care
Operations and USPI. This includes supporting annual and multi-year
business planning, evaluating capital initiatives, as well as
optimizing business development team performance. The team also
supports the development of best practice analytics and toolkits to
empower local decision-making to accelerate growth priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the strategic plans
aligned to market and business unit growth objectives. Serve as an
advisor to senior management and stakeholders on strategic matters,
providing insights and recommendations based on thorough analysis
and market intelligence. Identify opportunities for growth, assess
market trends, and evaluate potential risks to inform strategic
decision-making.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Oversee the development of
financial models, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic
initiatives and capital deployment. Analyze financial, operational,
and market data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for
improvement, providing actionable insights to drive performance and
growth.
- Business Performance Monitoring: Track key performance
indicators and metrics to measure the effectiveness of strategic
initiatives and investments. This involves identifying deviations
from targets and recommending adjustments as needed.
- Market Research and Competitive Analysis: Conduct market
research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends and
market opportunities. This includes extensively utilizing
third-party data to identify insights that enable proactive growth
initiative development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration and Data-Driven Recommendations:
Collaborate with senior business leaders across departments and
business units to develop data-driven recommendations. Conduct
analysis and develop insights to inform decision-making and to
drive strategic outcomes. Effectively communicate findings and
recommendations to leadership through clear and compelling
presentations and reports, ensuring alignment with organizational
goals and objectives. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: A bachelor's
degree, preferably in business administration, finance, or
economics. Candidates who possess advanced degrees such as an MBA
or master's degree in a relevant discipline are preferred.
Experience: Significant experience in business planning, strategic
planning, or related fields in healthcare is required. Preference
for 7+ years of experience in progressive leadership positions,
where the candidate has demonstrated the ability to lead teams and
drive strategic initiatives is highly valued. Analytical Skills:
Candidates should be able to analyze complex data, market trends,
financial statements, and other relevant information to identify
opportunities and risks, as well as to develop strategic plans and
recommendations. Financial Acumen: A solid understanding of
financial principles and practices including financial modeling,
budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Strategic Thinking:
The ability to think strategically and envision the long-term
direction of the business. Leadership Skills: The candidate must be
able to inspire and motivate teams, provide clear direction, and
foster a collaborative and innovative environment. Tenet complies
with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory
vaccination of its workforce. If you are offered this position and
