Job Description:
Overview: Responsible for leading the effort of building
successful processes and procedures to allow for composite wind
component repairs across multiple Wind Original Equipment
Manufacturers (OEMs). Assist in optimizing, troubleshooting, and
advising repairs while helping to build knowledgeable and efficient
crews to repair wind turbine composites components across the
United States. Review, assess, and provide feedback from
pictures/video of the repair process coming in from the field
Develop processes and procedures for composite repairs across
multiple OEM platforms
Own the review and approval of field repairs to ensure quality and
minimize the company's warranty exposure
Lead efforts in developing and expanding composite repair service
offerings, new innovative tooling, processes to be, and remain at
the forefront of technology in the market
Assist with the identification, hiring, and development of the
composite repair team
Lead the business in implementing and executing a development plan
and training curriculum for field technicians, along with leading
the actual training and development
Liaison with customers when technical questions arise, or as needed
by Business Development and Commercial teams
Have a strong understanding of composite materials, composite
repairs, and manufacturing process
Qualifications: Education and Work Experience Requirements:
Associates or Bachelor's degree in technical field, preferably in
Engineering
Five years of composites repair experience, preferably in an
Engineering/Technical function
Three to five years of wind turbine experience
Ability to develop repair processes and procedures for composite
repairs, including WTG blades
Experience performing or leading the performance of composite
repairs on major OEMs
Demonstrate experience repairing all category 5 external and
internal composite blade repairs
Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel at all levels
inside and outside of the wind farm
Ability and willingness to take initiative and work without direct
supervision
Experience working on platforms
Proficient computers skills in Excel, Word, Web Tools
Able to communicate clearly with junior employees up to company
directors
