About the Role
As a CBRE Software Sr. Engineer, you will work under broad
direction and supervise, develop, maintain, and
enhance software applications in Valuations.
This job is part of the Software Engineering job function. They are
responsible for successfully executing and delivering with quality
& high availability. They are also responsible for monitoring
system improvements to increase efficiency.
What you'll do
- Develop, maintain, enhance, and test client systems of moderate
to high complexity.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact on client
engagements.
- Investigate and resolve complex data, system, and software
issues in the production environment.
- Design and put in place strategic partner integrations.
- Take part in the specification and design of new features at
client or business request.
- Participate in the evaluation of new platforms, tools, and
technologies.
- Coach others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in
most or all areas within the function.
- Provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, code
review, and/or training to coworkers.
- Apply advanced knowledge to seek and develop new, better
methods for accomplishing both individual and department
objectives.
- Showcase expertise in your own job discipline and in-depth
knowledge of other job disciplines within the organization
function.
- Coach others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in
most or all areas within the function.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with
CBRE RISE values. Anticipates potential objections and persuades
others, often at senior levels and of divergent interest, to adopt
a different point of view.
- Impact the achievement of customer, operational, project, or
service objectives across multi-discipline teams. Work is guided by
functional policies which impact the design of procedures and
policies.

operational plans in support of achieving functional goals.

What You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5+ years of relevant
experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and
education will be considered. The innovative mentality to develop
methods that go beyond existing solutions.
- Ability to solve unique problems using standard and innovative
solutions having a broad impact on the business. Expert
organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a related field such as
information systems, or computer science or equivalent work
experience. Requires technical and business knowledge in multiple
disciplines/processes. Typically has 5+ years of relevant work
experience. Consideration given to equivalent combination of
education and experience.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in full Stack software
development using Java Technologies
- At least 5 years of experience in Spring Framework (Core
Spring, Spring Rest, Spring Boot)
- At least 5 years of experience in Software Development Life
Cycle (SDLC).
- At least 5 years of experience with unit testing (JUnits)
- At least 3 years of experience in database development like SQL
Server, PostgresDB, etc
- At least 3 years of experience in architecting & building
RESTful APIs or Microservices
- At least 3 years of experience in Public Cloud Computing like
AWS, GCP, Azure
Preferred Technical Skills
- 7+ years of experience in full stack Java development
- 5+ years of experience in front-end technologies like VueJS,
Angular
- 5+ years' Experience with Agile project Management: JIRA,
ADO
- 5+ years' Experience with CICD (e.g. ADO, Jenkins or other
tools)
- 3+ years' experience with Application Monitoring tools: Data
Dog, Kibana
- Knowledge of Public Cloud Services like AWS, Azure
- Knowledge of NoSQL Databases like DynamoDB
- Experience in software engineering & architecture of
large-scale distributed systems, working with microservices and/or
distributed architecture
- Ability to be flexible, proactive, comfortable working with
minimal specifications
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams,
and product management to understand requirements, describe
software product features, and technical designs
- Communication Skills - Ability to comprehend, analyze, and
interpret semi-complex business documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to production incidents. Ability
to make effective presentations on semicomplex topics to
engineering managers & solution architects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong
organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient,
timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to
effectively present information at all levels of the
organization.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex
documents. Ability to solve problems involving severa options in
situations. Requires analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to
direct others and teams to these tasks
